A little about me:

TLDR;

I’m a New York-based writer living on the beach. The topics I’m most excited about are health, (digital) culture, food, and books — all the things that bring people together. I spend a lot of time thinking about how everything in life is an act of service. Even though my work is non-fiction, my to-be-read pile of books is full of literary fiction & modern romance.

Before Writing

In a past life, I built potable water systems & taught public health in rural Honduras. Later, back in New York, I worked with a small farm-to-table restaurant group as an operations manager before helping fast-casual startups revamp their service and employment models. I took these experiences with me when I quit my full-time job in 2015 to write. This career change came right after learning about my BRCA1 genetic mutation and becoming a lifetime patient in an overly complicated healthcare system.

Studies

I earned my BA in Ethics and Public Policy and an MPA in Public Policy and Healthcare Management from New York University. As an undergraduate, I published a white paper on the fight for water in the Colorado River Basin and, for my graduate capstone, I worked on a micro-loan project in Rwanda with the UNDP.
